Position Overview We are seeking an experienced MEPF Manager to oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems on a major hyperscale data center project in Milan. This is a critical position supporting the delivery of a mission-critical facility, ensuring high-performance infrastructure systems are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
As the MEPF Manager, you will act as the on-site technical authority across all MEPF disciplines. You will lead coordination between contractors, engineering teams, and commissioning partners while maintaining compliance with local regulations and international quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of all MEP and fire protection systems across the project lifecycle—from design validation through installation and commissioning. Serve as the primary on-site technical point of contact for MEPF systems and coordinate across internal engineering, design, and commissioning teams. Manage contractor execution of HVAC, chilled water, CRACs, switchgear, UPS, generators, fire suppression, and plumbing systems. Review and approve technical documentation, including shop drawings, equipment submittals, method statements, and test plans. Oversee site inspections, QA/QC reviews, and witness factory and site acceptance tests. Track MEPF progress against schedule milestones, highlighting risks and ensuring readiness for commissioning and handover. Ensure compliance with local codes, health and safety regulations, and internal engineering standards. Manage change control, technical queries, and field resolutions with subcontractors and consultants. Maintain accurate documentation of installation progress, testing records, and turnover packages. Support system troubleshooting and root cause analysis during commissioning and integrated testing.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline – OR – At least 6+ years of experience managing MEPF systems on complex construction projects. Minimum 5+ years of experience delivering MEPF systems on large-scale commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects. Technical proficiency across mechanical systems (cooling, HVAC), electrical systems (UPS, power distribution), and fire protection infrastructure. Fluent in both Italian and English, written and verbal. Strong knowledge of local construction codes, permitting, and compliance procedures. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and MEP coordination models.
Preferred Qualifications Experience delivering hyperscale data centers or critical facilities such as hospitals, labs, or industrial manufacturing sites. Familiarity with commissioning and integrated systems testing (IST) procedures. Understanding of technical standards including NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE, and Italian building/fire codes. Proficiency in construction and commissioning platforms such as Procore, BIM 360, or similar. Professional certifications such as PMP, LEED AP, NEBOSH, or Certified MEP Manager. Experience in acting as an owner’s representative or lead MEP coordinator on site.
