One of the biggest leading professional services firms in Cyprus is working in partnership with GRS Recruitment to hire an Accountant (Supervisor) to join their Nicosia based offices. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising accounting engagements, ensuring the accurate preparation of financial records, supporting junior team members, and maintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients, collaborate closely with senior management, and contribute to the ongoing development and efficiency of the accounting function. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITLIES
1. Maintaining books of account on behalf of clients.
2. Preparing reconciliation statements and computing VAT returns.
3. Preparing and maintaining payroll by collecting information, calculating, and entering data.
4. Preparing monthly management accounts, including cash flow, income statements and balance sheets.
5. Preparing financial statements and appropriate accounting files for audit.
6. Reviewing of management reports and accounting files.
7. Supervision of staff on their assignments to ensure effective and efficient execution and completion of work.
8. Supervise, coach and develop junior members of staff.
9. Review and finalization of bookkeeping, payroll, VAT and VIES assignments.
10. Setting and monitoring of budgets and cost controls.
11. Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and producing financial reports and relevant statements.
12. Liaising with auditors and provision of comprehensive accounting information and clarifications required for the completion of audit assignments.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
13. Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience in a relevant position based on the above duties.
14. Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks Online will be considered as a distinct advantage.
15. LCCI qualifications or other relevant bookkeeping qualifications, including qualified ACCA or ACA
16. Good knowledge of IFRS principles.
17. Excellent knowledge of English.
18. Excellent organizational skills and accuracy.
19. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
20. Experience in bookkeeping for local and international clients.
