What You Bring: - Educational Background: Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field. - Experience: Work experience in Customs and Trade Compliance, R&D, or EHS is preferred, but not necessary. - Technical Skills: Knowledge in HS Code classification and Trade Control regulations (e.g., Chemical Weapons Convention, Dual-Use) is a plus. What You'll Learn: - Product Classification: Accurately determine the Harmonized System Code (HS Code, 6-digits) for our product portfolio and identify the relevant local tariffs, e.g., EZT and TARIC codes in Europe, TARES Switzerland, and UK Global Tariff. - Compliance Assurance: Ensure customs and trade control compliance through guidelines, training, and clear communication. Provide expert consultation and training to internal teams worldwide on customs and trade control classification. - Stay Updated: Monitor and implement changes in legal regulations, such as updates to the HS Code System and TARIC. - Data Management: Optimize and ensure compliant use of classification data within SAP GTS and S4/HANA, covering processes such as OTC, P2P, and MM. Review and decide on trade control blocks, document decisions, guide processes, and provide evidence during customs audits. - Regulatory Evaluation: Classify and assess products according to trade control legal requirements (e.g., Dual-use, CWC, PIC, CBAM), maintain consistent classifications, and initiate necessary changes. - Reporting: Compile internal reports and evaluations related to customs tariff and trade control classification and initiate binding tariff information. Your Toolkit: - Software Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; ideally experienced with SAP GTS and SAP S4-HANA. - Research: Ability to investigate topics on the borderline between chemistry and international trade regulations by consulting and combining technical literature, legislative texts and other resources. - Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills to interface effectively with internal departments (Marketing & Sales, SCM, R&D, Procurement, EHS & Product Safety) and external stakeholders (Customs authorities, Logistic service providers, Customs brokers, Customers, and Suppliers).
