Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars. /p h3Purpose of the Job /h3 ul liThe System Designer is part of Project Engineering team. /li liHe/She develops system or subsystems architecture, defining and allocating requirements, evaluating design trade-offs, balancing technical risk, defining and assessing interfaces, keeping close coordination with verification and validation activities and with project deployment activities, in line with the System / Subsystem Roadmap. /li liHe/she provides all the necessary support to the System Engineering Manager (SEM) / Project Engineering Manager (PrEM) for the technical answer to the needs expressed by the Solution Director and the specific user project needs. /li /ul h3Organisation Structure /h3 pTrainborne BU Project Engineering /p h3Organisational Reporting /h3 ul liDirect report line to: Trainborne Design Engineering Group Manager /li liDotted report to PrEM (during program / project execution) /li /ul h3Key Network Links /h3 pLinks with: System Engineers, Product Designers, Software Designers, System Application Architect (SAA), Project Architect, VV, Safety, RAM, Quality, Project Engineering team. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 pFor SYS Activities: /p ul liDevelop system documents, specifications and other technical documents. /li liApply the system engineering processes. /li liEnsure that the system technically fulfils the defined needs and enhancements (change requests) and that a proper system engineering approach is being followed. /li liEnsure technical consistency and alignment with Project Engineering teams throughout the development, providing technical support to VV, and support to Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety Analysis. Interact with other System Engineers and with other Métier engineers to that ensure the design fits with the intended architecture. /li liDevelop typical applications of the system for Generic System/Product validation purposes and manage design feedback from verification and validation team. /li liMinimize, by design, the System deployment cost, lead time and risks. /li liContribute to the definition and maintenance of the System Baselines, analyse and implement Change Requests. /li liPrepare and participate in Design Reviews. /li liContribute to system configuration activities, to requirement management activities and Data preparation for ERTMS and SCMT/SSC systems. /li liEnsure that the system follows standardization approach by reusing existing solutions or by implementing reusable solutions, and by providing for generic System/product an efficient system deployment kit (tools, user documentation…) /li liProvide support to Projects external stakeholders (Customers, Users, Tenders) and participate to the QCD estimation. /li liUnderstand and apply the TIS System Development processes and contribute to continuous improvement (RoE, process…) /li liAdvise the SEM / PrEM of the recommended path that the development should take, outlining the reasons for that recommendation. /li /ul h3Important to note /h3 pAs a global business, we’re an equal‑opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in.
