No Duties and Responsibilities This position provides strategic and operational leadership for the Center for Faculty Development comprised of 10 full-time employees ( FTE ) and student workers. The role ensures mission-informed, evidence-based, and high-quality professional development support for faculty. Responsibilities include developing and executing a strategic plan, conducting a regular faculty needs assessment survey to inform that plan, and coordinating the efforts of the Center while fostering a collaborative, team culture. The Director fosters collaboration among areas within the Center and with LUC campus partners to meet current faculty needs. /ppbJob Summary /b /ppThis position provides strategic and operational leadership for the Center for Faculty Development –comprised of 10 full-time employees ( FTE ) and student workers. The Director fosters collaboration among areas within the Center and with LUC campus partners to meet current faculty needs. /ppbGeneral Responsibilities : /b /pulliStrategic Oversight : Develop and implement a strategic plan, rooted in the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm and informed by the faculty needs assessment survey, that ensures holistic support for faculty professional development in teaching, scholarly work, and career advancement. /liliLeadership : Lead the Center for Faculty Development, including hiring, training, and developing professional staff. Foster a mission-centered culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. /liliInnovation : Stay current with evidence-based trends to support faculty professional development, evaluating their potential merit and recommending implementation, when appropriate. /liliBudgeting : Develop and manage the Center’s budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. /liliFundraising : Identify and pursue potential grant funding for Center activities. /liliRelationship Management : Establish and maintain relationships with faculty and campus partners to provide services, including internal marketing of services /li /ulpbPosition Specific Responsibilities : /b /pulliProvide strategic and operational leadership for the Center, ensuring high-quality professional development for faculty. /liliOversee daily activities, conduct intakes with faculty seeking assistance and refer accordingly. /liliSet and maintain high standards for faculty professional development. /liliFoster a “one-stop-shop” for faculty professional development by coordinating operations internal to the Center and by partnering with faculty and units across the institution. /liliEstablish and maintain a Faculty Advisory Council to ensure that the Center continues to address current faculty professional development needs in the areas of teaching, scholarly work, and career advancement. /liliOversee the continuous improvement of support services to align with the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm, ensuring that decisions align with faculty needs identified in the needs assessment survey. /liliAssess outcomes of programming and adjust accordingly on a regular basis. /liliOversee the recruitment, training, and professional development of staff and student workers. /liliConduct regular performance evaluations, create professional growth plans, and foster a collaborative team culture. /liliLead initiatives to streamline workflows and proactively manage changes in support services, ensuring alignment with the Center’s strategic plan. /liliLead collaborative projects with AJCU partner institutions around Ignatian Pedagogy and the Scholarship of teaching and learning ( SOTL ). /liliParticipate in fund-raising duties for faculty professional development. /liliDevelop and deliver faculty professional development opportunities as necessary. /liliCoordinate institution-wide faculty professional development gatherings. /liliDirect the process for soliciting, vetting and selecting faculty for the faculty excellence awards. /liliMarketing and Communication : Communicate Center activities to university stakeholders. /liliCommunicate faculty participation in Center activities to Deans. /liliPerform other duties, as requested. /li /ulpbMinimum Education and / or Work Experience /b /pulliA Doctoral degree with an emphasis in higher education, instructional design, human relations, or related field is required. At least 5 years of experience with teaching at the university level. /liliA minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience with pedagogical development, a history of building and maintaining internal partnerships, and supervisory and administrative skills in higher education. /li /ulpbQualifications /b /pulliA Doctoral degree with an emphasis in higher education, instructional design, human relations, or related field is required. At least 5 years of experience with teaching at the university level. A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience with pedagogical development, a history of building and maintaining internal partnerships, and supervisory and administrative skills in higher education. /liliDemonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational goals. A history of building and maintaining internal partnerships with faculty and staff across the institution. Experience managing large-scale projects from conception to completion.
