Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer (PE) who can thrive and grow within an interactive & dynamic team where safety, quality, creativity, and continuous improvement are paramount. The Project Engineer will be responsible for the successful execution of Ingersoll Rand ETO Centrifugal Compressors Orders and for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to elevate the team, the business, and themselves. This role involves guiding the Engineering Design teams to complete successful projects, ensuring project requirements are met throughout the life of customer orders and improvement projects. The Project Engineer will collaborate closely with the Project Manager, Design teams, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to ensure cross-functional success and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include attending internal and external kick-off meetings, managing customer communications, and working with Design Engineering, customers, and suppliers on scope via technical discussions. Continuous improvement is a core value, and the Project Engineer will be involved in projects that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and capabilities. This position is a valued part of the Engineering organization, serving as a technical liaison and a key player in complex projects, with potential career paths in project management, team leadership, and senior engineering roles. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the execution of projects focusing on item selection, vendor alignment, and handling contractual documentation. Coordinate efforts among engineering functions like Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering. Conduct technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, and standards. Make critical decisions, organize topics, prioritize work, and exercise good judgment. Maintain professionalism under stress, change, and pressure, while fostering a cooperative environment. Basic Qualifications Knowledge of industrial machinery, project management, equipment specifications, and documentation workflows. Familiarity with compressor subsystems such as gearboxes, lubrication systems, intercoolers, controls, and accessories. Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with co-workers, suppliers, and customers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP and Teamcenter are a plus. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (e.g., Chemical, Aeronautic). Relevant experience in the compression industry; 1-2 years of API compliance preferred. Strong teamwork, soft skills, self-motivation, responsibility, attention to detail, and personable nature. Willingness to learn and educate others. Good prioritization and time management skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Understanding of system layouts, CAD systems, and data integrity, along with mechanical aptitude.
