YOUR TEAM
You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where computational scientists (Machine Learning, Computer Vision, image processing, big data and high-performance computing), material engineers, chemists, physicists, and heritage experts collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research. CCHT has extensive collaborations with other Research Lines of IIT focused on AI and computer vision and has full access to the powerful IIT’s HPC infrastructure (‘Franklin’) with 256 GPU-nodes.
Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
· Development of methodology based on artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms designed for historical glass objects to monitor the diffusion of surface cracking, or crizzling.
· Development of object detection and semantic segmentation methods for automatic detection of cracking development on glass object.
You will collaborate with CCHT researchers in EU-funded project GoGreen (GA 101060768) developed in partnership with different international institutions, with the aim to promote preventive and remedial conservation practices based on green principles.
The position might require regular travel to partners’ research facilities for periods from one to several weeks, depending on needs.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. M.Sc in computer science or a related field with in Computer Vision (CV) and Machine Learning (ML) (completed or near completion).
2. Documented experience in the development of CV and/or ML methods for the identification of change or anomaly detection in time series imagery.
3. Proficiency in English language (written and oral).
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
4. Experience on Deep Learning algorithms and relevant platforms (PyTorch or TensorFlow);
5. Experience on unsupervised and semi-supervised anomaly detection.
6. Experience in handling and manipulating microscopy/medical imagery;
7. Suitable publication record on established on CV, ML conferences/journals.
