In the role of Assistant Financial Controller at Belmond Sicily, you will play a crucial part within the Finance department, supporting the Financial Controller in the management and oversight of Grand Hotel Timeo and Villa Sant'Andrea financial operations. Primary Responsibilities
* Assisting the Financial Controller in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
* Supporting budget management and forecasting activities, analyzing variances, and providing recommendations
* Overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
* Collaborating on general ledger management, ensuring the correct recording of financial transactions
* Participating in month‑end and year‑end closing procedures, including account reconciliations and balance sheet analysis
* Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard hotel assets
* Preparing financial analyses and providing support to various departments for strategic decision‑making
* Ensuring compliance with company financial policies, as well as local and international regulations
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
* Proven experience (at least 2-3 years) in a financial role, preferably within the luxury hospitality sector
* Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial control procedures
* Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and numerical skills
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with financial management systems (PMS/ERP)
* Fluent in Italian and English (both written and spoken)
* Highly detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of handling confidential information with utmost discretion
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team
