TXT e-Tech Srl, a TXT Group company, is seeking an Avionics Integration and Qualification Engineer to join the technical team working on an advanced infrared electro-optical system (IRST – Infrared Search and Track), part of the avionics system for high-performance platforms.
The incumbent will initially focus on environmental and integration testing, then progressively evolve into systematic debugging, cause-and-effect analysis, and finally redesign or re-engineering of the tested architectures. The incumbent will work closely with experts in optics, electronics, computer science, infrared physics, and mechanics, gaining a comprehensive system overview.
Initial Responsibilities:
- Execution and supervision of environmental tests according to DO-160 / MIL-STD-810 / MIL-STD-461: temperature, vibration, EMI/EMC.
- Support for HW/SW functional integration on test benches and avionics platforms.
- Preliminary anomaly analysis (failure analysis, logging, signal verification).
- Drafting of Test Plans, Procedures, Qualification and Traceability Reports.
- Collaboration with external laboratories and suppliers during testing phases.
Expected Role Evolution:
- Advanced diagnostics and systemic debugging of complex malfunctions (optical, electronic, SW).
- Proposal and implementation of technical or architectural improvements to tested systems.
- Active participation in system design and re-engineering (hardware, test rig, logic, validation).
- Opportunity to contribute to the modeling, simulation, and lifecycle management of the avionics system.
Required Skills:
- Previous experience in testing, integration, V&V, or avionics or industrial testing.
- Ability to read and write technical documentation in Italian and English.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, logger, etc.).
Nice to have:
- Knowledge, including theoretical knowledge, of the DO-160, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-810 standards.
- Experience with real avionics systems or test benches.
- Basic knowledge of Python or other data analysis/test automation tools and/or C/C++.
- Experience debugging electromechanical or optical systems.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, controls, mechanics, or sensors.
- Familiarity with the physics of infrared systems and optics.
