Digital IC Design Engineer - Bergamo
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Digital Design Engineer to develop and verify complex digital subsystems for an advanced Electronic Integrated Circuit (EIC) enabling next-generation optical I/O. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with licensed and in-house IP, collaborates effectively with mixed-signal and system teams, and enjoys building robust, silicon-ready digital logic in a high-performance environment.
What will you be doing?
• Design, implement, and verify digital logic for an EIC supporting advanced optical I/O
applications
• Integrate licensed IP blocks (e.g. UCIe, RISC-V) with proprietary digital subsystems
• Develop control, confguration, calibration, self-test, and diagnostic logic for high-speed
SerDes and mixed-signal blocks
• Write and maintain RTL (SystemVerilog / Verilog) and associated testbenches
• Perform functional verification, simulation, and debug using Cadence EDA tools
• Collaborate closely with analog, SerDes, firmware, and system architects to define
interfaces and requirements
• Support synthesis, timing closure, and design sign-of activities
• Contribute to documentation, design reviews, and continuous improvement of digital design
methodologies
What we need to see?
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in digital IC design and verification for complex SoCs or mixed-signal ICs
• Strong RTL design skills in Verilog or SystemVerilog
• Experience integrating third-party IP (e.g. processor cores, interconnects, or standard
interfaces)
• Familiarity with control and monitoring logic for high-speed interfaces (SerDes, calibration,
BIST, diagnostics)
• Hands-on experience with Cadence EDA tools for simulation, synthesis, and verification
• Solid understanding of digital design fundamentals (clocking, resets, CDC, low-power
concepts)
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate clearly across
disciplines
