Overview
At IBA (Ion Beam Applications), we are world leaders in proton therapy—an advanced form of radiation therapy that enables precise, targeted treatment of cancer while sparing healthy tissue. Each proton therapy center we build is a combination of cutting-edge technology, complex infrastructure, and close collaboration with hospital teams. The installation and operational launch of these systems require dedication, precision, and a strong partnership mindset.
Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate all site activities (organized in shifts), prioritizing installation and maintenance work
* Manage logistics and materials on site, coordinating with internal and external subcontractors
* Ensure that customer requirements are met, maintain effective communication, and foster strong customer satisfaction
* Supervise your team and actively participate in technical operations when needed
* Prepare and track site budgets and maintain thorough documentation of all site activities
* Ensure deployment and compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies
* Enforce and maintain IBA’s quality standards on site
* Promote a high-performance, safety-first culture across the team
* Manage HR aspects of the site: shift planning, time policy enforcement, team development, etc.
What We Value
* A university degree in engineering, technical sciences, or a related field
* Proven experience leading technical service and operations teams, ideally in a high-availability or mission-critical environment
* 7+ years of experience managing, coaching, and developing teams of 7–10 people
* Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust-based relationships, both internally and with customers
* A strategic mindset with the ability to create action plans, delegate effectively, and align team efforts with business objectives
* Excellent leadership qualities with a focus on mentorship and team growth
* Experience in customer relationship management, budget tracking, and operational excellence
* Familiarity with maintenance planning tools (ideally with a CMMS)
* Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives
* A strong sense of ownership, accountability, and pride in the performance of the site
Due to contractual obligations, the selected candidate must have a full proficiency in Italian. As internal collaboration across departments is required, English is also mandatory.
