We invest in training all our talents and strive to create a workplace where everyone can excel. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liEconomic and social repercussions of the clean energy transition /li liMaterial and resource requirements of climate transition strategies /li liPhysical and socio‑economic assessment of climate impacts and adaptation strategies /li liModeling of biodiversity and socio‑economic interactions /li liIntegrated land‑water‑energy sustainable strategies /li liImpacts and solutions of regional and local pollution /li liRobust decision making to design adaptation strategies /li /ul pResearchers will integrate their skills with the Institute’s analytical capacity. We have established computational models of economic, environmental and climate systems, promoting a plurality of methodological and disciplinary approaches. We also have consolidated statistical, econometric and growing machine learning capabilities. Mid‑career researchers are expected to contribute to these research topics, advance our assessment methods, and proactively contribute to the Institute’s fundraising effort. Researchers will work on internally and externally funded research projects, help coordinate scientific activities and supervise post‑docs and PhD students. /p h3Requirements /h3 pWe are looking for motivated researchers with one of the following skills: /p ul liComputational modelling using economic frameworks (e.g., GAMS, Julia, or JuMP) /li liMultiscale land‑water‑energy modelling /li liClean energy systems and markets /li liGeo‑spatial statistics and econometrics of climate and environmental hazards /li liBiodiversity modelling and valuation /li liEx‑post/ex‑ante evaluation of climate and environmental policies /li liRobust optimisation and decision analysis under deep uncertainty /li /ul pDepending on the profile, candidates should have the following qualifications: /p ul li5+ years of experience since PhD in economics, applied mathematics, engineering, physics or any related field /li liFluency in English (Italian not required), good presentation and writing skills /li liWillingness to travel for project meetings and conferences /li liAbility to work in an interdisciplinary and diverse environment committed to high‑quality research /li liExperience in research project writing and management /li /ul h3Duration, Compensation Benefits /h3 ul liThis opportunity will be advertised both internally and externally. /li liSuccessful candidates will be based in Milan or Venice, Italy (CMCC offices). /li liThe appointment period will initially be 24 months and renewable pending a positive evaluation.
