Wireless RF & Embedded Systems Engineer
Location: SunCubes – Milan, Italy
SunCubes develops laser-based wireless power systems for autonomous platforms such as UAVs and robotics.
To support the development of our low-latency sensing and wireless communication architecture, we are looking for a Wireless RF & Embedded Systems Engineer who can design RF communication systems and implement embedded firmware for real-time control and communication.
You will work at the intersection of RF engineering and embedded firmware development, contributing directly to the design of high-performance wireless systems.
What You Will Do
* Design and develop RF communication subsystems operating in sub-GHz bands.
* Define system architecture, select RF components and optimize wireless links for low-latency and reliable communication.
* Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontroller-based systems.
* Design and optimize low-level drivers and hardware abstraction layers.
* Implement and optimize communication protocols such as:
* SPI
* I2C
* UART
* Sub-GHz RF protocols (FSK, GFSK or similar)
* Support system integration, debugging and field testing.
* Collaborate closely with hardware and software teams to integrate RF communication into larger system architectures.
What We Are Looking For
Degree in:
* Electronic Engineering
* Telecommunications Engineering
* Computer Engineering
* or similar disciplines
Other requirements:
* Strong programming skills in C/C++ for embedded systems
* Experience with microcontrollers
* Experience working with RF or wireless communication systems
* Familiarity with RTOS environments
* Hands-on experience with embedded hardware (PCB bring-up, schematic reading, debugging)
* Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to Have
Experience with:
* Sub-GHz wireless communication
* Low-latency wireless protocols
* Robotics, UAVs or autonomous systems
* Previous work experiences in the above mentioned fields will be considered an asset.
