Associate R&D Data scientist (fixed term contract - 6 months)

In this role you will contribute and support the team to meet successful results in Research & Development projects development for our Transformer Business Unit in Monselice (PD).
The opportunity:
We are seeking an data scientist to join our R&D team. The successful candidate will be engaged in the development of new optimization tools based on ML/AI, including search and data entry. The preferable candidate will have a background exam in numeric calculation, statistic, or electrical / mechanical engineering.
How you’ll make an impact:
* Research and implement appropriate ML algorithms and tools.
* Select appropriate datasets and data representation methods.
* Extract and manage data from different Databases.
* Resourcefulness in carrying out data collection activities.
* Resourcefulness and creativity in developing ML models that best fit involved datasets.
* Interact and collaborate with colleagues from Italian Team, Global Technology Centers and Factories worldwide.
* Learn how to use specific Software and Simulation tools used in the department.
Your background:
* A Master’s degree in Data Science (or similar), strong Competences in Machine learning and AI.
* Knowledge of databases access & queries (e.g., SQL server,) environment.
* Knowledge of R Studio and/or Python environment and main ML data science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, Tensorflow, Pytorch).
* Experience designing and debugging neural networks will be consider as a plus.
* Proven experience in ML techniques applicable to real work problems with limited amount of data will be consider as a plus.
* Good knowledge of MS Office especially Excel, PowerBI (or equivalent).
