The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, implementing, and maintaining cloud environments, ensuring alignment with security standards and business objectives. /p pThis position requires a blend of technical expertise and managerial acumen, including vendor negotiation, cross-functional coordination, and clear communication with senior leadership on project progress and outcomes. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liWorking with the IT team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the organization. /li liSupporting the planning, designing, and developing cloud-based applications. /li liManaging the cloud environment in accordance with the organization’s security guidelines. /li liSupporting the deployment and debugging of cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle. /li liLeading and developing best practices for a larger cloud engineering team. /li liBuilding and designing web services in the cloud /li liOrchestrating and automating cloud-based platforms throughout the organization. /li /ul h3Essential Qualifications Experience /h3 h3Mandatory /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering /li liThree to five years’ experience in a Cloud Engineer role or related position /li liRelevant training and/or certification as a Cloud Engineer /li liExperience with Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS) and Active Directory Federation Services (AFDS), PKI, OU structures and Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V, VMWare /li liExperience with SOA applications and cloud-based services, preferably AWS /li liExperience working with OpenStack, Linux/UNIX, Rackspace, Docker, and Microsoft Azure /li liKnowledge of web services, API, REST, and RPC /li liStrong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks /li /ul h3Desirable /h3 ul liMaster’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering /li liCertified AWS Solutions Architect, Cloud Security Certification, and/or OpenStack Administrator Certification. /li liExperience in developing software using languages such as Java and Python /li liService knowledge of Windows PowerShell 2.0 /li liExtensive experience with open-source technology, software development, and system engineering. /li liDatabase experience, including knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, and related data stores such as Postgres. /li liExcellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace. /li liInterest in Cloud Engineering and its impact on greater business practices. /li liSkilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as required /li liPrevious experience in NATO and knowledge of NATO policies /li /ul pIf you've read the description and feel this role is a great match, we'd love to hear from you!
