Collaborate with other members of the Operations team to perform necessary repairs, installations and facilities support functions; transport and store items and materials; make site purchases; coordinate with third party vendors; conduct janitorial services as needed; and perform other related facilities and systems support functions as assigned. /ph3What you’ll do /h3ulliLight construction work, repairs, and building upgrades /liliTurning units in housing programs, including painting, cleaning, and replacing furniture /liliGeneral janitorial support such as maintaining restrooms, trash collection, clearing stoppages in toilets, sinks, and floor drains, and fixing / replacing soap dispensers, toilet seats, bathroom hardware, and water faucet washers /liliExecuting site installations such as fire extinguishers, bulletin boards, mailboxes, etc. /liliRepairing / replacing window, door, and cabinetry hardware, and lighting fixtures /liliPerforms janitorial tasks that include maintaining restrooms, trash collection, sweeping and mopping /liliAssembling furniture and office equipment; light building as needed /liliDriving SPY van to transport materials, drop off donations, remove site trash, make purchases, etc. /liliOther duties as assigned to support the mission of the program and organization /li /ulh3Qualifications /h3ulliHigh school diploma or GED is required. /liliBachelor’s Degree in Maintenance Engineering is preferred. /lili1-2 years of experience as a facility maintenance coordinator or similar role is required. /lili1-2 years of experience with HVAC, plumbing, painting, carpentry and masonry is required. /liliApprenticeship is a plus. /liliSupervisory experience is a plus. /liliCultural responsiveness. /liliAbility to determine whether an item or fixture is repairable, and to estimate type and quantity of material needed for a project. /liliAbility to accommodate a work schedule that varies according to operational needs and may include evening and occasional weekend hours. /liliAbility to stand, walk, lift, bend, reach, see, sit, and perform mental concentration; carry, push, pull or move moderately heavy to heavy loads; walk long distances; stoop and squat; climb ladders. /liliStrong verbal communication skills to receive and provide information regarding site needs. /liliMay require lifting over 50 lbs., while observing safe lifting techniques. /li /ulh3Work environment and physical requirements /h3ulliProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. /liliChanges in the environment, such as office or outdoor settings. /liliPhysical effort / lifting, up to 15-20 pounds at times. /li /ulh3Special conditions /h3ulliMandated Reporting Requirements: The person holding this position is a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment. /liliCOVID-19 Vaccination Requirements: All workers in homeless services organizations must provide proof of vaccination.
