To strengthen our operations in Italy, we are expanding our team with a role that sits at the crossroads of inventory management, purchasing, and operational planning. We are looking for an Inventory & Purchasing Specialist who will play a key role in ensuring material availability while keeping inventory lean, efficient, and optimized.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, your primary focus will be the day-to-day management and optimization of warehouse inventory, combined with structured purchasing activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing inventory levels to ensure material availability while maintaining minimal and optimized stock levels.
* Defining, monitoring, and continuously improving minimum stock levels, reorder points, and safety stock logic.
* Planning and executing batch purchasing strategies to balance cost efficiency, lead times, and storage constraints.
* Creating, releasing, and managing purchase orders in line with inventory targets and production needs.
* Monitoring stock movements, consumption trends, and slow-moving or obsolete materials.
* Working closely with production planning, logistics, and purchasing to align inventory strategy with operational demand.
* Actively following up with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries and avoid stockouts or overstocking.
* Identifying opportunities for inventory optimization, cost reduction, and process improvement.
* Using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) to manage inventory, purchasing workflows, and data accuracy (experience is a plus).
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for a hands-on, structured, and analytical professional who enjoys working close to operations and taking ownership of inventory performance.
Requirements:
* Proven experience (3+ years) in inventory management, purchasing, supply chain, or similar roles within manufacturing or industrial environments.
* Strong understanding of inventory control principles (min/max levels, batch purchasing, stock optimization).
* High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
* Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems (D365 is a strong plus).
Nice to Have:
* Experience in warehouse operations or materials planning.
* Familiarity with component-based or electromechanical production environments.
* Exposure to lean or inventory optimization methodologies.
