Bloom Energy is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Field Service Manager and is based in Turin Metropolitan area or western Milan Suburbs, Italy. Access to Turin or Milan airport is required.Role description: We are looking for a Field Service Technician to contribute to our fuel cell technology initiatives, delivering on-site service and support to customers.Role and Responsibilities:Provide fuel cell service during field visit dispatchesOperate a service vehicle safelyCreate daily workflows for oneself from a list of scheduled tasks (regularly assigned to work autonomously)Manage on-site preventative maintenance, repair, test, and diagnostic tasksFollow company procedures and protocolsDiagnose errors or technical problems and determine/implement proper solutionsCooperate with a technical team and share information across the organizationComprehend and follow customer access requirementsMaintain service vehicle and spare part inventoryMaintain/build positive relationships with customersProduce timely and detailed service reports as requiredOther responsibilities as assignedRequired to reside within the Service DistrictTraining: Two initial training sessions of up to four weeks each in San Jose, CAFeeling comfortable working on a platform at heights up to 5 metersEducation and Experience:The following MINIMUM levels of experience and/or education are required:High school diploma & 6 years' experience in electrical, process controls, or electro-mechanical fields;- Or –Technical diploma, Journeymen Certification, Electrician Certification in a technical field and relevant industry experience of 4 years (electrician, electronics technician, field service, technician, test engineer, etc.)- Or –5 years or more relevant experience in commercial electrical, combined with electrical-related military experience (eg. Navy Nuclear Electronics/Electrical Technician, or other technical position, military certified electrician or technician, Gas Turbine Electrician)Skills and Experience:Strong electrical troubleshooting/diagnostic skills requiredFamiliar with safety standards, especially those related to electrical workPrior experience as an electrical technician working with: three-phase systems, uninterruptible power supplies, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, automatic transfer switches, and microprocessor based control platformsExperience with various electrical/electronic test and measurement equipmentAble to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and blueprintsExperience with performing equipment maintenance in accordance with ANSI/NETA standards for Electrical PowerMechanical system aptitude, to include troubleshooting/repair skillsHighly motivated and able to work autonomouslyDemonstrates sound judgment in the resolution of complex problemsTeam player who exhibits a high level of integrity and professionalismCommunicates written and verbal English effectivelyAble to execute against written and verbal procedures and sequenced work instructionsAble to regularly handle equipment up to 25 kgsAble to reach, squat, bend, and twist during the work dayAble to use a ladder or stepstool regularlyAble to facilitate 24X7 on-call dutyAble to facilitate shift work as neededAble to regularly work alternative schedules (one week/month of Wednesday-Sunday, for example)Able to regularly support overtime to achieve quarterly goalsAble to regularly travel (drive) throughout a large Service DistrictAble to travel occasionally to other US and international destinationsAble to maintain a driving record in good standingBloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
