Job OverviewApplied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions used to produce chips and advanced displays. We design, build and service cutting‑edge equipment that helps our customers manufacture semiconductor and display chips, supporting technologies such as AI and IoT.
Role SummaryAs a Mechanical Engineer, you will leverage a strong foundation in physics, mathematics and material science to design, develop, and modify mechanical engineering layouts, schematics and specifications. You will oversee manufacturing and installation processes, coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver quality solutions.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical design activities, managing the development and modeling phases of machines/systems independently and in collaboration with the team.
- Development of project documentation: layouts, assembly modeling, detailed design and generation of bills of materials.
- Execution and documentation of analysis and validation tests of technical solutions to improve product performance and solve problems.
- Proposal of design solutions to achieve product specifications, optimizing design times, costs, prototype and series production times and costs, coordinating with electrical, software and systems design teams, as well as planning, supply chain and production departments.
- Collaboration with the supply chain team and suppliers to identify systems, sub‑assemblies, components and critical parts suitable for achieving project targets, including through co‑design activities.
- Collaboration with documentation teams to create internal / customer support manuals.
- Collaboration with prototype assembly / manufacturing teams to support the creation of systems and troubleshoot mechanical and automation issues.
- Monitoring and reporting on project progress.
