Infrastructure Delivery Manager
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centers.
We are expanding our infrastructure management team and looking for a proven technology manager with experience in people management, robust technical understanding, and the drive and vision to elevate AWS Data Center Operations.
The successful candidate will create sustainable processes and standards, and drive automation opportunities to reduce delivery cycle times and improve quality without impacting network availability.
The mission of the team is to deliver network and server capacity on time with zero rework.
As Infrastructure Delivery Manager you will manage the implementation and delivery of inbound capacity and equipment, grow and develop a team, oversee their development, and provide strategic direction and technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators, project manage, coach, and create documentation.
- Manage inbound capacity from receiving to deployment stages.
- Manage the installation of network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment.
- Guide, train, and educate staff on best practices related to all service owner issues.
- Manage tasks and deliverables across small to large-size projects.
- Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs.
- Provide weekly reports to the data center manager.
- Coordinate team resources to support project delivery needs, including emergency projects, change management, maintenance windows, and off-hours/on-call support.
- Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Host weekly staff meetings.
- Drive compliance with Amazon performance management requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2+ years of data center experience.
- 3+ years of team management experience.
- 2+ years of networking experience (DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, TCP/IP).
- Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
- Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.
- Experience measuring key operational metrics (order cycle time, ship estimate accuracy, on-time and complete shipment, inventory record defect rate).
- Experience representing your team or technical area to senior management.
- Experience contributing to the definition and implementation of automation opportunities within an operations environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, managing complex calendars, planning and organizing events of all sizes, and coordinating travel.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.
The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $216,800/year in our highest geographic market.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
