PpThe Electrical / Automation Engineer will assist with the development and implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects, production, processing methods and controls in a manner consistent with CertainTeed Insulation, Mission, Values and Objectives. Through the application of engineering fundamentals and advanced process control tools, this position will ensure that processes are centered, capable and in control; reduce process variations; and resolve special causes variation. The Electrical / Automation Engineer will also support the plant and company strategic initiatives including capital projects that involve electrical process control systems and provide leadership in the implementation and support of plant automation, electrical and database systems. /p pbESSENTIAL DUTIES /b /p ul liReports directly to the Technical Services Manager. /li liResponsible for safety throughout the plant, making sure all CertainTeed safety rules are followed. /li liSupervising 4 industrial electricians and 2 Apprentices. /li liAssist and train Electricians with any difficult troubleshooting issues. Provide support and assistance for emergencies during afterhours or weekend. /li liSolid communication skills at all levels and the ability to provide leadership. /li liUses advanced tools / techniques to improve reliability. /li liProgramming and troubleshooting with Rockwell Automation products, RS logics 5000, Studio 5000, SCADA. /li liOrganize work orders, ordering parts, prioritizing work orders in SAP software, post on call schedule. /li liManaging all electrical work in the buildings and the grounds, including the High Voltage towers. /li liResponsible for planning, evaluating, organizing and implementing automation and Maintenance related projects and initiatives. /li liIdentifying new opportunities and solutions with cost / benefit analysis and making recommendations to improve efficiencies. /li liPlanning and scheduling of projects and preparing capital expenditures. /li liProvides technical expertise, support and enhancement of automation related systems (PLC / HMI / VFD / Instrumentation / Data and Voice Networks / plant electrical distribution systems) and implements required updates to avoid technical obsolescence. /li liEnsures CertainTeed insulation standards of safety, quality and reliability are built into power distribution and control systems. /li liDevelops and maintains standard operating procedures and work instructions. /li liProvides training for operators and maintenance personnel. /li liAssures good housekeeping practices following 5S systems, enforces plant rules and safety regulations, and supports WCM initiatives. /li liContinuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels. /li liTravel to other plants when needed. /li /ul h3Is this job for you ? /h3 pbREQUIREMENTS /b /p ul liPost-Secondary Degree in electrical / Automation engineering or equivalent. /li liTwo to Five (2-5) years of applied professional experience in Electrical, Instrumentation Controls (IC) / PLC. /li liExperienced with National Electrical Code (NEC), Arc-Flash (Z462) code requirements and Ontario electrical code. /li liExpertise in integrated automation and information systems in a manufacturing environment. /li liFlexible, open-minded team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills. /li liExcellent interpersonal and problem solving capabilities to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing and team environments. /li liAbility to provide leadership and innovation at all levels of the organization. /li liProficient in Microsoft Office Suite. /li /ul pbProficient in AutoCAD Electrical /b /p h3To make sure nothing is forgotten /h3 pSaint-Gobain, founded over 360 years ago, is a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of materials and solutions for the construction and industrial markets.
