* Responsibilities include:
o Evaluating radar input requirements and communicating main performance analysis needs to the radar engineering analysis team to support architecture and HW/SW design.
o Performing trade-offs between possible radar instrument solutions, including defining architectures and main sub-systems such as antenna, RF section, and digital section. Special focus on the digital section of synthetic aperture radars (SAR), including C&C design, timing, FDIR, and onboard processing (e.g., waveform generation, digital filtering, beamforming, data decimation, compression, and formatting).
o Defining radar subsystem/unit requirements, addressing functional decomposition and performance needs for Digital, RF, and SW sections.
o Participating in design reviews at various levels per established procedures.
o Contributing to requirement traceability and maintenance.
o Supporting the Radar System Engineering Manager in RFW/D evaluation at subsystem/unit level versus the architecture and budget.
o Assisting in defining and maintaining radar payload budgets.
o Developing software tools (e.g., Matlab, Excel) for simulation and analysis during design and verification phases.
