Job Description: Weight Control Engineer
Within the Business Line Energy Carriers, the System & Data Engineering Management department is seeking a Weight Control Engineer to support our Engineering team in executing large-scale EPC projects. The engineer will ensure weight management and philosophy meet project and client requirements, as well as international codes, company specifications, and industry standards.
The role involves interfacing with all project disciplines to accurately estimate weights of bulks and equipment, maintaining weight databases (MON) of current and past projects.
Technical Skills and Responsibilities
* Execute activities within own area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements.
* Prepare and issue Weight Control Procedures.
* Plan, prepare, and issue regular weight reports.
* Set up, operate, and maintain weight control software.
* Interface with Project Team, collecting data on dry, lift, and operating weights.
* Review data for consistency with plant layout.
* Implement, review, analyze, classify, and process engineering data.
* Propose corrective actions to improve data communication.
* Analyze weight deviations or center of gravity variations and propose corrective actions.
* Monitor weight implications due to design changes.
* Back-up input data for traceability throughout the project.
Qualifications
* Master's or Bachelor's degree in technical disciplines.
* Professional proficiency in English.
* Extensive experience in weight control, ideally including at least 5+ years working on offshore steel structures such as jackets, topsides, floating, or subsea structures.
IT Skills
Proficiency with MON (weight databases), Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Microstation, SmartPlant Review, Navisworks.
