In the Netherlands, we operate from two locations with services in Contract Logistics, E-fulfilment, and Freight Forwarding (Air & Ocean). Within JAS, we are looking for an Assistant Controller. You will be working at our location in Ridderkerk. From this location, you will be involved in a variety of financial tasks for both our main location in Aalsmeer and Ridderkerk. You will provide support to our Finance Controller who is based in Switzerland. You are internationally oriented and speak fluent English. Do you want to work in logistics and enjoy diversity? About the job:
The main goal within this position is to assist the financial controller with the preparation of the monthly closing and reporting package and perform profitability analysis.
* Assist in month end task preparing journal entries such as depreciations, accruals, prepayments, etc.
* Prepares monthly Gross profit and revenue analysis for the management.
* Reconcile accounts monthly.
* Monitors spending for adherence to budget.
* Coordinate financial audits with the financial controller.
* Assist in the preparation of the yearly budget as well as bi-weekly forecast.
* Establish internal control systems to prevent inaccuracies in financial statements.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
* 3+ years’ experience working in accounting is required
* Proactive and results oriented
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
* Strong computer skills including Excel
* Able to multitask and meet deadlines
* Fluent English
* Freight Forwarder experience preferred but not required
* Commitment to detailed financial accounting and reporting
