As a Design Manager, you will join our Design and Construction Project Management teams to deliver world-class services for new Tesla showrooms, service centers, delivery hubs, bodyshops, and distribution centers across the region. You will manage and deliver individual projects with a strong focus on design, working alongside the brightest minds to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
We are seeking an architect or technical designer with a proven ability to think creatively and strategically. In this role, you will lead the full design lifecycle, from early feasibility and concept development through detailed design, construction documentation, and project handover, for both new builds and adaptive reuse of existing Tesla facilities. A key part of your role will be producing high-quality, accurate, and construction-ready design documentation using Autodesk Revit, ensuring seamless coordination across disciplines and alignment with Tesla’s design standards.

What You’ll Do
4. Site Analysis: Conduct due diligence, feasibility studies, and site surveys for new and existing locations
5. Design Creation: Produce Design Intent Drawings in REVIT, ensuring adherence to brand standards, code compliance, and efficiency
6. Internal Alignment: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IT, Security, EHS) to integrate technical specifications and requirement
7. External Coordination: Work with Architects of Record and consultants to optimize constructability and cost-benefit ratios
8. Permitting: Manage regulatory permit requirements with the support of external vendors
9. Financial Management: Assist in creating CapEx figures, preparing bid packages, and reviewing third-party invoices
10. Project Monitoring: Oversee projects to ensure the execution aligns strictly with the established design intent
What You’ll Bring
11. Professional Experience: Proven professional background in architectural design or construction engineering, with a minimum of 4 years experience
12. Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of REVIT, BIM 360, CAD applications, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office
13. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction engineering, BIM processes, and local building codes and zoning laws
14. Project Execution: Ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, and consultant relationships to ensure timely delivery
15. Communication: Excellent documentation and presentation skills, capable of translating complex problems into clear plans for leadership
16. Mindset & Travel: Positive, fast-learning attitude with a passion for manufacturing infrastructure and a willingness to travel
17. Desirable Extras: Experience with 3D scanning, authority management, and project management fundamentals is highly valued
