Position Description :
The Technical Support Specialist ensures proper computer operations for end users to accomplish organizational tasks effectively and efficiently. This role involves receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests, which may include diagnostics, help request tracking tools, and hands-on desktop support.
Responsibilities :
1. Proactively monitor and support end user hardware and software in a timely manner.
2. Prioritize workload to resolve critical issues first.
3. Install, upgrade, and configure hardware and software.
4. Assist in testing new hardware and software before deployment.
5. Configure, monitor, and maintain mobile security and virus protection software.
6. Maintain hardware and software inventory.
7. Install, configure, and troubleshoot content management systems.
8. Manage web environments, including internal and external websites, ensuring security, testing, and content updates.
9. Backup support for VOIP phone systems, cellphones, and printers/copiers.
10. Create and maintain user documentation for help desk support.
11. Keep equipment operational, arrange repairs, and evaluate new equipment.
12. Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
13. Participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge.
14. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and licensing agreements.
15. Participate in disaster preparedness planning for security and data protection.
Requirements :
High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT preferred. Minimum two years’ experience in a tech support role, with proficiency in Microsoft products (Azure, Office 365, SharePoint), operating systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills required.
