Responsibilities / Tasks

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to drive the growth and performance of our organization in Italy.
This role holds full responsibility for sales, profitability and the overall Country Organization, acting as the primary national interface for the Division.
You will ensure the execution of the global strategy while leveraging local market insights to accelerate business development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Achieve and manage the yearly Sales, OI and EBITDA budget for the country.
2. Lead, manage and develop the Italian Country Organization, ensuring strong performance across sales and service activities.
3. Serve as the main point of contact for the Division and/or Business Units, ensuring alignment between global strategy and local execution.
4. Handle site‑related matters and maintain effective relationships with public authorities and institutional stakeholders.
5. Support the development and implementation of the group‑wide divisional strategy, enriching it with customer insights, market intelligence and local expertise.
6. Ensure the successful execution of strategic plans to drive business results for GEA in Italy.
7. Oversee all sales and service activities in the country, coordinating customer interactions to maximize synergies and cross‑selling opportunities across the GEA portfolio.
8. Lead the country management and sales teams, building a state‑of‑the‑art sales and service organization.
9. Translate the regional strategy into a detailed country and sales plan, manage the budgeting process and execute sales and service initiatives.
10. Develop the country setup in line with Division and Business Unit requirements, contributing to the design of the go‑to‑market strategy.
11. Conduct national market analyses, develop the Italian market and identify new growth opportunities, including the expansion of applications.
12. Identify and manage national key accounts to maximize volume, cross‑selling and negotiation of major contracts.
13. Ensure full compliance with corporate policies, QHSE guidelines and local laws.
14. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers across a wide range of industries, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maximize market access.

Your Profile / Qualifications

Educational Background

15. Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or a related technical discipline preferred
16. MBA strongly preferred

Professional Knowledge and Experience

17. Internationally experienced professional in sales, service and general management, with a strong focus on country‑level sales leadership
18. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in B2B environments, preferably within the machinery industry
19. Advanced understanding of business development and proven experience in managing complex change processes
20. Strong track record in leading both international and country sales & service organizations, with a clear focus on driving sales growth
21. Experience working within manufacturing and engineering environments, including selling complex technical products and associated value‑added services
22. Strong commercial acumen and successful application of best practices in regional business development
23. Preferably familiar with legal procedures related to restructuring processes, as well as solid knowledge of labor law, Health & Safety legislation and commercial regulations

24. Fluency in English and the local language; additional languages are an advantage
25. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to think strategically
26. Excellent communication and public speaking skills
27. Entrepreneurial mindset combined with outstanding organizational and leadership capabilities
28. General management orientation with a strong customer focus and deep understanding of customer needs
29. Leadership competencies, including the ability to lead and develop international and culturally diverse teams, with strong top‑line and target orientation
30. Intercultural experience and sensitivity
31. Strong interpersonal skills, including persuasive communication, the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and effective communication at all organizational levels
