About The Role
As a Welding Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the quality of welding processes, adhering strictly to all relevant codes, design requirements, technical specifications, standards, and contractual obligations. You will report directly to the Senior Component Delivery Manager and will be based in Monfalcone, working onsite. Working hours will be from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM and then 1:15 PM to 4:45 PM, with a 45‑minute lunch break. A degree of flexibility is available (e.g., 9:00 AM to 5:45 PM).
Key Responsibilities
* Adopt an ethical approach and follow the Nuclear Safety Culture philosophy.
* Organize and coordinate welding qualification and test activities for procedures, mock‑up tests and fabrication.
* Use applicable codes and different welding processes, managing multiple activities concurrently.
* Realize prototypes aimed at validating welding solution design.
* Apply process‑engineering fundamentals to welding procedures.
* Implement robotic welding activities.
* Author welding procedures and qualification records, technician performance qualifications, and supervise laboratory tests required for qualification validation.
* Issue welding procedures, welder and operator qualifications, and technical documentation (WB, WPS, PQR, etc.) according to applicable codes and customer standards.
* Select filler materials for each job based on analysis of codes, standards and contractual requirements.
* Apply detailed knowledge of welding materials, design and manufacturing solutions for various welding processes and filler material classification.
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Engineering degree (Materials or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
* Certification as a Welding Technologist or Welding Engineer (IWT/IWE) is advantageous but not mandatory.
* 0 to 2 years of experience for Engineer I; 3 to 4 years for Engineer II.
* Understanding of ASME, EN, and RCC‑M codes, plus ASTM and EN standards governing mechanical and welding tests and filler materials.
* Advanced proficiency in English (C1 level).
