Overview Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the School of Chinese Medicine (Ref.: 532930) to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract. The position is in The University of Hong Kong. Responsibilities The appointee will take part in healthcare services, teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, supervision of research postgraduate students, and academic research. He/She is also expected to perform administrative duties. Qualifications A recognized undergraduate degree in Chinese Medicine registrable with the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong and a Ph.D. degree in Chinese Medicine or related disciplines; Substantial experience in Chinese medicine clinical practice, teaching, as well as course development in tertiary institutions; A proven track record of high-quality research and scholarships in the discipline as measured by impactful publications, external grants obtained, supervision of research postgraduate students and cross-disciplinary collaborations; Strong commitment to Chinese Medicine education, with interests in pursuing innovations in pedagogy and curriculum design; Proficiency in both Chinese and English. Appointment consideration Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Professor. Salary and Benefits A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
