Implement system updates, software installations, and configuration management, supporting core services such as DNS, LDAP, SMTP, SSH, and NTP. Monitor and troubleshoot running systems, analyze logs, and manage user authentication and permissions, including centralized directory integration and advanced file system configurations. Automate routine maintenance tasks using shell scripting and other tools, streamlining operations and improving system reliability. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assess requirements, develop solutions, and contribute to IT projects aligned with business and security objectives. Qualifications In‑depth knowledge of Linux systems administration functions (mainly used distributions are SuSE Enterprise, RedHat and CentOS): Deploy, configure, and maintain systems, including software installation, update, and core services. Manage users and groups, including the use of a centralized directory for authentication (e.g. LDAP/LDAPS). Configure system logging, including remote logging. Configure networking services, including DNS, SMTP, SSH, NTP, HTTP/HTTPS. Operate running systems, including the management of different run levels, identifying processes, controlling services. LVM (Logical Volume Manager). Create and configure file systems and file system attributes, such as permissions, encryption, ACL (access control lists), and NFS. Knowledge of shell scripting and other tools to automate system maintenance tasks and knowledge of one or more cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). Proficiency in English. Basic networking and basic knowledge of SQL. Basic knowledge of traditional hypervisor technologies, with a specific focus on VMWare. At least 5 years of experience in related fields. Additional Skills Knowledge of monitoring software and tools such as Nagios, Icinga, Graphana, and others and knowledge of Linux Clustering software (HP ServiceGuard and others). System automation, orchestration tools, and Infrastructure As Code software (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, etc.). Experience with Oracle Clusterware and RAC database and experience with High‑Performance Computing, MPI libraries, Slurm.
