in Southern Europe. As part of this growth, they are seeking an experienced
Senior Project Manager / Construction Manager
to lead mission-critical projects in Milan.
This is a client-side role, acting as the key interface between internal teams and external contractors, ensuring the successful delivery of high-value data centre projects.
Key Responsibilities Lead full lifecycle delivery of data centre construction projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover Act as the client representative, managing general contractors, MEP contractors, and consultants Drive programme, budget, quality, and risk management across all project phases Oversee all
MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)
works, ensuring alignment with technical and operational standards Take ownership of the
Commissioning Process, including: *Level 1–5 commissioning *Integrated Systems Testing (IST) *QA/QC, documentation, and final handover Ensure compliance with Italian regulations, permitting processes, and health & safety standards Provide detailed reporting to senior stakeholders and manage key project risks Foster strong relationships with local contractors and supply chain partners
Key Requirements Proven experience delivering
data centre or mission-critical construction projects Strong technical background in
MEP systems
(electrical bias preferred) Extensive experience managing the
full commissioning lifecycle, including IST Experience working in a
client-side / operator environment
or closely with end users Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, and cost management Fluent Italian and English are essential
(both written and spoken) Solid knowledge of Italian construction regulations and standards
Desirable Experience Experience working with End Clients / Operators Previous project experience in Milan or wider Italy Exposure to hyperscale or large colocation developments Understanding of sustainability and energy efficiency within data centres
