Position: Project Quality and Safety Manager (PrQSM)
Purpose of the job
Support the Project Team to ensure project safety and quality assurance by coordinating all quality and safety activities throughout the project and act as the preferred interface for all métier quality requirements (Engineering, Industrial, Supplier).
Ensure that all Return Of Experience (REX) from each métier is considered in Risks & Opportunities and closely monitor to prevent occurrences.
Ensure and improve tender quality during the tender phase when requested.
Customer Quality
Serve as the interface with the Customer quality and safety teams.
Project Quality
Establish the Project Quality plan and ensure its proper application during contract execution in accordance with contract requirements and Alstom processes.
Support the project team and Project Manager to prepare gate reviews and follow up on related action plans.
Project execution controls
Support the project Manager in preparing gate reviews and following up related action plans.
Report quality and safety alerts.
Ensure quality of modifications made during the project.
Ensure that safety assessment is correctly implemented (e.g. safety review) and prepare safety authorisation.
Control project deliverables compliance through inspection and audits to authorise presentation or delivery to the customer.
Facilitate the REX process within the project.
Measure and improve project quality performance
Manage non-conformities and safety issues and facilitate problem solving during project execution to reduce non-quality costs.
Improve the efficiency of quality teams to reduce function costs.
Ensure the Engineering team is included in the customer issue‑solving process when needed.
Depending on the local organisation, the PrQSM may also oversee Industrial quality, Quality Management System and Supplier Quality Assurance activities.
Performance measurements
On Time gate reviews shared with PMO DFQ Look Ahead.
Number of remaining safety or customer issues to fix after agreed target time.
Cost of non-quality and speed to solve non-conformities.
Educational Requirements
Master’s degree in Engineering with a management background, depending on project size.
Experience in managing quality tools and problem‑solving tools.
Knowledge of railway industry norms and certifications is an asset.
Experience
Aware of processes and products delivered in the project.
Fluency in English.
Experience in quality and audit is appreciated.
Skills & Competencies – Technical & Behavioral
Rigor, communication, knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, IRIS, CMMI, ECM, etc.) and quality tools.
Experience in operational activities and documentation management.
