Job Title: Electronic HW Designer
Purpose of the job: Develop hardware electronic boards or modules. Sustain the electronic equipment on trains during the lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
* Perform development of electronic HW boards and equipment;
* Specify and design HW modules, describing technical choices and verifying compliance through analysis;
* Define mechanical solutions and parts in collaboration with Mechanical Designers;
* Design electrical schematics using Mentor Expedition;
* Define the Bill Of Materials (EBOM), using components from PPL, or provide indications for new components;
* Check and validate components against F&S (Fire & Smoke) and Ecodesign constraints (EN45545, REACH);
* Manage technical specifications and follow-up for external development;
* Evaluate thermal and reliability performances, estimating MTBF according to standards;
* Define placement and routing constraints for PCB design;
* Oversee PCB realization, possibly through specialized HW designers;
* Define interfaces for programmable components (FPGA, CPLD);
* Design and implement VHDL code or specify functionalities for FW development;
* Ensure manufacturability, testability, and repairability in collaboration with industrialization teams;
* Specify requirements for routine testing and verify implementation;
* Participate in design reviews;
* Design and implement HW/SW testing procedures;
* Manage configuration of hardware products;
* Support HW/HW and HW/FW integration and validation;
* Assist manufacturing during ramp-up and lifecycle management;
* Stay informed on technological advancements;
* Contribute to standardization and continuous improvement;
* Report activities to HW Architect and PrEM.
Mandatory Experience:
* Minimum 2 years in hardware development for railway electronic boards and systems;
* Experience in RAMS, functional safety (EN50126, EN50129), cybersecurity, high availability, real-time systems;
* Experience with FPGA and FW/SW development;
* Proficiency with electronic measurement tools and design/validation software (Mentor Xpedition, Pspice, ModelSim, RAM Commander);
* Practical electronics skills (soldering, debugging, testing);
* Design for Quality lifecycle experience.
