PURPOSE STATEMENT
Turn data into actionable decisions and steer profitability across SYNLAB Italy’s B2B business.
YOUR MISSION
As Product Cost Controller, you will act as a key Finance partner, ensuring that every operational and commercial decision is supported by accurate cost analysis and clear insight.
You will work cross-functionally with Operations, Commercial B2B and Leadership to:
-anticipate cost evolution
-safeguard profitability and performance
-support a sustainable and scalable diagnostic business
Your work will have a visible impact on margins, productivity and financial outcomes.
-Lead COGS control activities, contributing to budgeting cycles by delivering cost insights and forecasts and providing clear monthly variance explanations and business-relevant drivers.
-Develop and continuously improve the cost-per-test model in SAP to support pricing and margin decision-making
-Perform customer profitability analysis and prepare solid business cases for B2B deals, proposing corrective actions when needed
-Analyze production volumes and their implications on cost absorption, capacity utilization and financial performance
-Partner with Operations to identify efficiency opportunities and track the progress of cost improvement initiatives
This is not a reporting role. It is a decision-enabling role.
-Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field
-5–7 years of experience in Controlling / Business Finance, ideally in complex or data-driven environments (healthcare, diagnostics, pharma or industrial)
-Strong command of SAP (preferably CO) and advanced Excel; knowledge of BI tools is a plus
-Ability to translate analytical findings into clear recommendations for both operational and commercial stakeholders
• Strong communication skills and credibility in front of senior partners
• Fluent English
