The Information Networks offering includes wireless field and plant networks, cyber security, remote access, backup and disaster recovery, IT architecture, virtualization and hosting of the different systems and solutions, interfaces to other level 3 and 4 systems. The Technical Specialist is predominantly an operations role, however they will work across the full project lifecycle, including: - Opportunity Identification - Solution Development - Sales Support - Project Execution - Post-Implementation Analysis - Consultancy The key objectives of the role are: - To develop opportunities for the delivery of benefits to clients through the use of specific Emerson technologies and where appropriate, those of third parties. - To ensure a good fit between order content and our product / execution capability by guiding scope definition throughout the sales process and participating in the setting of appropriate pursuit strategies. - To create continuity between sales and execution process by ensuring a common understanding of requirements between client, sales and execution. - To assist in achieving long term sustainability and effective implementation by helping to define and implement best practice in throughout project pursuit and implementation. REPORTS TO: Operations Service Manager SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - _Sales Support_ - Qualify identified opportunities, including specification of appropriate technical implementation strategies. - Provide technical support to the sales team throughout the sales process. - Provide technical input into proposal generation and resource estimation. - Provide an assessment of technical risk associated with potential work. - Be the technical reference for the project within your field of expertise. - Ensure a good fit between order content and our product / execution capability by guiding scope definition throughout the sales process. - _Project Execution and Support_ - _ - _ - Support and execute projects that involve technologies within your field of expertise. - Participate in and lead client support activities such as: site survey; feed study; troubleshooting / support call resolution; system modifications and training. - Provide a central point of contact for technical expertise in your areas of expertise. - Organise internal knowledge transfer - undertake regular knowledge updates, using workshops where appropriate, to the European Engineering team with respect to their specialist fields. - Ensure that Company’s quality control processes and relevant standards are followed. - _Process, Product & Solution Improvement_ - Identify possible improvements to the sales and project execution processes. - When encountered, highlight potential improvements in the Emerson products used. - Analyze executed projects to identify elements which could be used to give benefit to future projects. - Assist in defining and creating standard solutions to maximize effectiveness. - Assist in developing implementation capability for solutions based on the supported technology within the organization. - _Business Development_ - _ - _ - Identify and produce marketing material based on work performed such as quantified business results for projects undertaken. - As required develop and maintain relationships with key third parties, such as vendors of complementary technologies. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE - Degree in an engineering discipline, network and computing and/or Electronics Control and Instrumentation. - Minimum 5, preferably 10 years of experience in our industry (Automation, DCS, and field implementation). - Extensive knowledge on network architectures and administration, core network infrastructure components, wireless technology and fieldbus. - Extensive experience with direct client contact and managing expectations. - Good knowledge on Information technology (IT), Cyber Security, cloud computing, virtualization, programming software, operating systems, Active Directory, Patch Management, Backup and Recovery - Experience in our ind
