AWS Utility Computing (UC) is responsible for product innovations such as Amazon S3 and EC2, and constantly releases new services that set the industry apart. As a member of UC, you will support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps services, including support for customers needing specialized security solutions.

Key job responsibilities
* Deeply understand and root‑cause customer issues, investigate metric trends, and collaborate with senior engineers
* Own services and support out‑of‑hours support as smoothly as possible, implementing operational excellence best practices
* Utilise Linux skills to troubleshoot, innovate fixes, maintain software, and provide metrics for capacity and efficiency management
* Apply networking knowledge to identify and troubleshoot network connectivity issues
* Communicate clearly, collaborate across teams, and drive results while managing ambiguity and change
* Maintain a customer‑obsessed mindset, consistently looking to understand pain points and deliver quick, comprehensive resolutions
You will need to be a UK national and be able to obtain and maintain a UK Government Security Clearance. Further details can be found at the UK government portal.
Basic Qualifications
* Working knowledge of Linux system administration and strong troubleshooting skills at all levels, from application to network to host
* Experience with systems automation using BASH, Python, Perl, or similar
* Experience with network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP)
Preferred Qualifications
* Exposure to cloud computing concepts and design considerations
* Knowledge of configuration management systems such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or related tools
