JOB OBJECTIVE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and execution-focused Tactical Buyer to support day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure timely availability of materials and services.
This role is responsible for executing purchase orders, managing supplier relationships at the operational level and resolving supply issues to
support production and business continuity.
The Tactical Buyer works closely with Material Management, Planning and Strategic Sourcing to translate demand into effective procurement actions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process Purchasing Requisitions (PR) and verify their conformity to the operating methods
- Transform Purchasing Requisitions into Purchasing Orders (PO)
- Manage Purchasing Order cancellation, rescheduling or PO information change (Quantity, Price,…)
- Ensure that suppliers acknowledge PO receipt and provide delivery commitment
- Follow up and expedite Purchasing Orders
- Ensure On Time Delivery (OTD)
- Manage disputes and problem resolution
- Ensure accuracy of the Purchasing Order (project number, destination, relevant notes/comments,…)
- Share ideas or approaches to aid in operational efficiency and improvements
- Respect ethics rules in accordance with Thales Group values and GT&C;
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business/Economic/Engineering or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain Operations
- Strong understanding of tactical/operational buying processes
- Strong proficiency in English
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle,…)
- Experience with commercial contracts and supplier risk management
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and within a team
