Overview
Maintenance Manager – Casalpusterlengo, Italy
We make refractory bricks and castables — the tough materials that keep high‐temperature industrial processes running safely. Our Casalpusterlengo site is highly automated, which means our equipment needs to be looked after properly if we want production to keep moving.
That's where you come in. We're looking for a Maintenance Manager who can keep the plant running smoothly, lead the maintenance team, and make sure machinery and facilities stay reliable, safe, and efficient.
The Role
You'll run the entire maintenance function on site. That means everything from coordinating planned work to jumping on urgent issues when they appear. You'll manage a team of mechanical and electrical technicians, work with external contractors, keep an eye on equipment performance, and make sure the plant stays compliant and in good working order.
Responsibilities
- Manage maintenance activities across production equipment, facilities, machinery, and utilities
- Plan and oversee routine and extraordinary maintenance work
- Lead and develop mechanical and electrical technicians (internal and external)
- Coordinate external contractors and ensure they work safely and effectively
- Manage spare parts procurement, inventory, and the warehouse
- Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot issues quickly
- Support continuous improvement initiatives with production and technical teams
- Manage the maintenance budget and optimise spending
- Prepare regular reports on maintenance activities and machine performance
- Contribute to the selection and purchase of new equipment
- Help create training materials on maintenance and proper machine use
Qualifications
You'll suit this role if you bring:
- Solid experience in maintenance within an industrial manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills (hands‐on experience is very welcome)
- A steady leadership style with the ability to guide and grow a technical team
- Good organisation skills and problem‐solving ability (not just tick‐boxes)
- Flexibility to handle urgent issues when they arise
- Good understanding of occupational health and safety standards
- Confident computer literacy
- A Bachelor's / Masters's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred, particularly with proven experience in electrical systems. Candidates with a Technical' diploma may also be considered if they possess relevant industry and electrical experience.
Nice to Have
- Good English skills
- Experience working with highly automated production equipment
Benefits
A chance to own the maintenance function at a modern, well‐equipped site with plenty of room for technical and organisational improvements. You'll work with an experienced Technical Manager and a committed local team, with the stability and benefits that come with being part of a global industrial organisation.
