Are you an expert in mining permits and environmental legislation, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes? Join Sibelco as Mining Projects Manager and help ensure business continuity through effective permitting strategies.
We are seeking an experienced Mining Projects Manager to coordinate and support the mining permitting process across the cluster, working closely with external consultants, local entities, and authorities. This role is critical to securing timely authorizations, managing regulatory compliance, and enabling the continuation of mining operations in line with legal, environmental, and sustainability requirements.
Reporting to the Cluster Operation Director, this position requires deep expertise in permitting procedures, environmental and urban planning legislation, and strong coordination skills across internal and external stakeholders.
In the role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Coordinating external consultants and internal teams to obtain mining permits within defined timelines.
* Defining the most effective permitting procedures based on project scope, regulatory requirements, and environmental constraints.
* Monitoring project progress, timelines, and deliverables to ensure permit approval and business continuity.
* Supporting Geological and Sustainability departments throughout the permitting and authorization processes.
* Managing relationships with local authorities, municipalities, and regional bodies, including inspections and site visits.
To be successful in this role, you have:
* A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Geology, with at least 10 years of experience in mining permits or similar regulatory roles.
* Strong knowledge of environmental, landscape, hydrogeological, and mining legislation relevant to permitting processes.
* Proven experience coordinating consultants and working with government authorities and regulatory bodies.
* Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills and fluency in English; proficiency in Italian is required.
