We are seeking an Autonomy Software Engineer with a strong background in algorithm development to design and develop onboard autonomy systems to plan and execute satellite operations and help satellites act autonomously in real time to boost mission return. We aim to revolutionize the future with autonomous space technology. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain high-performance autonomy software systems. Implement effective algorithms for real-time planning, scheduling, and decision-making. Work with simulation and testing environments to validate software functionality. Document code and write technical documentation, contributing to reviews and project milestones. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software components into products, emphasizing technical excellence and deadlines. Stay updated with the latest advancements in autonomous systems and space technology. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mathematics, or related field. 3–5 years of proven software development experience, preferably in robotics, autonomy, or operations research. Experience in designing and developing complex algorithms, preferably in task planning, cognitive robotics, goal reasoning and decision-making. Performance-driven mindset with expertise in data structures, algorithmic complexity, and code optimization. Proficiency in Rust and/or C++. Python is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team. Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred Experience Understanding of satellite systems and space mission operations. Experience developing algorithms for resource-constrained environments. Familiarity with machine learning solutions for planning and decision-making (deep learning, reinforcement learning). Familiarity with Scrum and Agile principles.
