We are looking for a Thermo‐Mechanical Architect to support a client based in Campi Bisenzio, Florence, Italy. The position requires full on‐site support for an initial assignment of two years, with the possibility of relocating later to Rome or Frascati depending on the employer's needs.

Responsibilities
Lead and be ultimately responsible for the technical definition and development of the thermal and mechanical architecture of a complex space system.
Lead a hybrid team of mechanical designers, thermal engineers/analysts and structural engineers/analysts.
Own the thermo‐mechanical subsystem across all project phases: requirements definition, design, analysis, assembly, integration and testing.
Act as the primary point of contact for the thermo‐mechanical subsystem with internal and external stakeholders.
Manage, coordinate and supervise the thermo‐mechanical project team.
Review the work executed by the team and ensure compliance with applicable procedures and standards.
Support and participate in environmental test campaigns (TVAC, vibration, etc.).
Contribute to supplier selection and procurement from a technical standpoint (e.g., by writing technical specifications).
Ensure high‐quality technical documentation and clear reporting.
Qualifications
Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
At least eight years of hands‐on technical experience in thermal and/or mechanical engineering, thermal design, analysis, or AIT for space systems.
Experience with spacecraft payloads or instruments, ideally optical payloads.
Experience in optomechanics is considered a very strong asset.
Proven ability to lead technical activities and work across disciplines.
Ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations, reports, and documentation to international standards.
Solid knowledge of space standards and quality processes.
Clear communicator, comfortable engaging with clients and senior stakeholders.
Willingness to work on‐site at the client's facilities in Italy, with occasional travel to other ATG Europe or client locations as required.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU and obtain any necessary security clearances.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Knowledge of Italian, both written and spoken, is an asset.
Additional certifications in systems engineering, project management, or quality assurance (e.g., PMP, AS9100, ECSS) are an asset.
