About the role
The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is at the forefront of making Amazon synonymous with innovation. As a Senior RME Technician you will help keep Amazon at the cutting edge by adopting innovative technologies and finding new ways to work with maximum efficiency. The role involves diligent monitoring of processes to ensure compliance with our high standards and improving existing standards through ad hoc updates.
Key job responsibilities
* Demonstrate best practices for safe equipment use and monitor teams to ensure adherence to correct processes.
* Monitor equipment performance through visual inspections, condition-based monitoring, and preventive maintenance, scheduling extraordinary maintenance if needed.
* Supervise technical staff during shifts, fostering their development and acting as the main point of contact for Reliability Maintenance Engineers.
* Resolve equipment issues to reduce downtime and enable the fastest possible order processing.
* Assist in defining continuous improvement strategies for systems and standardizing processes across our European network.
A day in the life
Across all shifts, you will guide your team, ensuring everyone has the necessary equipment in perfect working order. You’ll monitor processes, enforce regulatory compliance and policy, and conduct preventive maintenance to extend equipment life. Based on observations during shifts, you will propose improvements to increase efficiency and productivity, then implement them in the role across all European sites. You will also monitor processes with tools such as SCADA to guarantee performance and collaborate closely with line managers on administrative tasks. Work takes place in one of our operating centers and will be scheduled on shifts, sometimes during weekends and nights.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Professional experience in electrical and mechanical fields.
* Experience in automation or contexts involving material handling machinery.
* Advanced Italian language skills, both spoken and written; basic English knowledge.
* Demonstrated ability to supervise and influence a team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Proven multi-tasking ability and setting priorities across multiple projects and workloads.
* Experience managing suppliers and contractors.
* Understanding of PLC-based control systems and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Experience with computerized maintenance management systems for proactive maintenance planning and record keeping.
