Drying process plays a fundamental role in many of the processes across the industries we serve, from Flexible Packaging (drying of printing inks, drying of lacquers and coatings solvent based and water based), to Corrugated board and folding carton (drying of printing inks). The drying technology varies from hot air dryers, which are the most used today, to Infrared dryers in some applications. The Drying Center of Excellence manager needs to deeply study, analyze and understand the physics of drying, the interaction with the chemistry of the coatings and inks, and finally the energy involved in the process. The sustainability agenda of all the packaging industry has an urgent need to optimize energy consumption and CO2 footprint reduction. The Drying Center of Excellence Manager will liaise with the Product Lines concerned within the Bobst Group, with the RD&E Department of the San Giorgio site and with the external partners, research institutes and universities. Main responsibilities: He/she must ensure a scientific/technological level within the team that can develop innovative and competitive solutions. He/she must ensure the correct application of the necessary drying processes for each of the Product Lines. He/she must manage and develop new products. He/she must ensure the validation of projects developed by the Center of Excellence. He/she must ensure the collection of all Group best practices, optimize them and implement them. He/she must develop a network of relationship with universities, research institutes and specialized consultants. He/she must comply with the development programmer agreed with the Product Lines. He/she must ensure that the transfer prices can cover the costs of the structure. Manages a resource team assigned to him/her to achieve area targets. Education and Languages: Degree in Engineering ( mechanical or energy). Excellent knowledge of English. Appreciated previous experience in similar positions. Appreciated originating from B2B. Knowledge of 3D Cam design software. Knowledge of CFD, FEM simulation software. Skills and personal characteristic: Analytical skills. Relational and communicative skills. Leadership. Ability to work as a team. Planning and organization. Problem solving. Proactivity.
