Design, develop, test and deliver solutions (e.g., workflow/process path layout, space utilization/efficiency, ergonomics).Use appropriate technologies such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, SolidWorks, CREO, SketchUp, KeyShot, BIM360, etc., to deliver high‐quality, operationally excellent models and designs that meet safety, quality, and performance requirements and the needs of the customer.Identify and communicate any issues associated with the design, development, implementation, and optimization of fulfillment‐center technologies or design solutions.Invent, develop, and refine solutions to ensure they meet customer, business, operational, technology, and team goals.Understand the business impact of designs and apply good judgement when making design suggestions, ensuring they meet performance and scaling targets.Produce technical reports on processes and best practices.
A Day in the LifeAs an intern or co‐op you will be matched to a manager and a mentor. You will have the opportunity to influence the evolution of Amazon technology and lead mission‐critical projects early in your career. Your design work will contribute to solving complex technical challenges in areas such as distributed systems, data mining, automation, optimization, scalability, and security.In addition to working on an impactful project, you will engage with Amazonians for personal and professional development, expand your network, and participate in activities with other interns/co‐ops throughout your internship/co‐op. Regardless of location, you receive the tools to own your project and learn in a real‐world setting.Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a co‐op program at your university in engineering or equivalent.Program physically located in the United States.Knowledge of IE fundamentals such as basic spatial layouts of processing lines or process paths.Experience using one or more of the following technologies: AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, SolidWorks, CREO, BIM360, SketchUp, KeyShot.Commit to at least 40 hours per week and a maximum of six months.Currently pursuing, or in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related STEM field.Experience writing functional requirements to create new tools or refine processes and policies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience communicating technical details verbally and in writing.Experience with material handling and processing.
