Software Development Engineer, AWS Edge Connectivity
AWS Edge Connectivity service enables AWS Cloud connectivity options for US Intelligence and Department of Defense customers. These connectivity options allow our customer to deploy and run their isolated, sensitive workloads in an environment exclusive for their use-case.
In this role, you will build network pathways with which customers connect to Amazon's Dedicated Cloud partitions. You'll architect and implement software security protocols across Wide Area Networks (WANs), ensuring seamless and secure access to dedicated cloud environments.
The candidate selected must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI with polygraph level. Upon start, the selected candidate will be sponsored for a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Key job responsibilities include:
* Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and implement cloud-based services for managing encrypted network connections
* Build distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, with ease of management and use
* Influence product direction through data-backed technical insights and framing solutions in terms of business impact
* Mentor your teammates, helping to grow and develop their technical and operational skills
* Participate in on-call rotation in support of our services
A day in the life: Our team follows the Agile development methodology. Team members participate in daily stand-ups and weekly sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions.

Basic Qualifications
Requirements:
* 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
* 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
* Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
* Experience programming with at least one software programming language
* Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, IPSec)
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
* 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
* Experience with network Layer2/3 encryption(HAIPE/Ethernet Data Encryption(EDE))
* Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
