Overview

Reporting to the Chief Sustainability Officer, the Sustainability Director develops the global sustainability and social impact strategy, overseeing a team that delivers measurable improvements across the organization and supply chain. As an industry expert, the Sustainability Director drives positive change within the Stella community and business ecosystem.
Your Mission :
* Devise and lead a comprehensive sustainability strategy covering Environmental, Social, and Economic spheres.
* Manage the supply chain sustainability agenda, including human rights and ethical trading.
* Promote sustainability and innovation throughout the business ecosystem, fostering organizational commitment.
* Maintain Stella McCartney’s sustainability policies and standards.
* Oversee CSRD and Impact reports, monitoring progress against sustainability objectives.
* Ensure compliance with European regulations (e.g., CSRD) and local laws; manage related projects like traceability and digital passports.
* Manage the sustainability budget effectively.
* Lead a team based in London and Milan.
* Collaborate with internal teams such as Design, Merchandising, Production, Logistics, Store Planning, Finance, Marketing, and Communications to embed sustainability into their operations and training.
Your Talent :
* Senior leadership experience in sustainability and social impact.
* Passion for creating meaningful change in the fashion industry.
* Stakeholder engagement experience with employees, NGOs, communities, and influential entities.
* Strong understanding of sustainability topics like animal welfare, climate change, biodiversity, and circular economy.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of inspiring leadership.
* Track record of delivering targets and results.
* Strategic mindset with commercial awareness.
* Experience in complex, fast-paced environments.
* Analytical skills to inform solutions.
* Leadership experience in team development.
Systems and Essentials
* Masters degree in sustainability or related field preferred.
* Proficient IT skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
