The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking an experienced Application Developer to join our team at AWS. In this role, you’ll work with customers to architect, develop, and re‑engineer applications that fully leverage the AWS Cloud—designing cloud‑native solutions that embrace AWS best practices for elasticity, horizontal scalability, automation, and high availability. You will work with services such as Amazon EC2, Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Serverless Architectures, and Amazon Elastic Container Services to create robust, scalable applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop cloud‑native applications using modern architectural patterns.
- Implement full‑stack solutions leveraging AWS services and best practices.
- Architect, design and build scalable, secure, and highly available systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver customer solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship within the team.
- Drive adoption of cloud‑native development practices.
Typical Day
As a Cloud Application Developer you will engage with client teams, understand their business needs, and translate those into technical designs that maximize cloud capabilities. You will participate in architecture discussions, develop production‑ready code, troubleshoot issues, and mentor colleagues, all while staying current with the latest AWS innovations.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in application development on cloud platforms.
- Expert‑level proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., TypeScript, Node.js, Angular, React, Java, C#, Go).
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture patterns and microservices.
- Experience with DevSecOps practices, GitOps, and CI/CD tools.
- Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading technical implementations at enterprise scale.
- Deep familiarity with AWS services and cloud computing technologies.
- Knowledge of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and modern protocols (gRPC, WebSocket, GraphQL).
- Experience with security compliance and risk management (SOX, HIPAA).
- Strong communication and customer‑relationship skills.
- Experience with test automation and deployment practices.
- Track record of solving complex technical challenges.
