**Job Title**:EN-IM-05: R&D; Program Manager
**Purpose of the job**: Manage the R&D; Programs / WPs in his/her scope in terms of Quality Cost and Delivery
**POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION**:
Reports directly to: Services engineering director

Alstom Platforms, Central engineering (TSS and CCNs), Industrial, Sourcing, Industrial, Region engineering teams, Customer Directors

Suppliers, Universities and Research Centers, Customers, Competitors (partnerships)
**Accountabilities**:
Key accountabilities
- Ensures that the overall QCD target of the Program/WP under their responsibility is met.
- Analyses the requirements of the Business Opportunities targeted by the R&D; Program/WP (Business Case).
- Follow-up the Program/WP QCD and risks evolution and mitigation plans: cash, sales, Design for Quality milestones and progress follow-up (manufacturing, testing, commissioning and warranty ), work packages review,
- Manages all the resources needed to complete the Program/WP (discussion of clause by clause with internal & external suppliers, in support to Sourcing,).
- Proposes and drives improvement action plans in R&D; Program/WP.
- Contributes to the deployment of the R&D; development and new technologies in projects, training the users.
- Guarantees Return of Experience of the R&D; Program to the Reference Library and Tenders.
- Disseminates the results of the program within the different stakeholders of company (Operations, Regions,.).
- Proposes new R&D; initiatives, gathering ideas from inside and outside of the company. - Seeks for external funding and partnerships. Prepare for new calls (European and National).
- Collaborates on evaluating savings (ROI) on system LCC and Reference Libraries.
- Specific for Director / Program Manager: o Manages and develops the R&D; team of Program Managers / Engineers o Takes responsibility for QCD targets of R&D; Programs/WPs’ deliverables Key dimensions:
- R&D; budget allocated, team of R&D; Program Managers/Engineers, all depending on the scope of the R&D; Program/WP Performance measurements:
- QCD targets according to the R&D; Program charter
- PRB process
**Educational Requirement**:
Mandatory:
- Engineering University Degree or equivalent
**Desirable**:
- Knowledge of R&D; processes
- Railways technical knowledge on maintainability aspects
**Experience**:
Mandatory:
- 2-3 years on R&D; activities (not for engineers)
Desirable:
- Experience in a railway maintenance contract
**Competencies & Skills**
- English Fluent - Mandatory. French desirable
- Innovative spirit.
- Team Leader and solid decision making and critical thinking (for Director and Program manager).
- Self-motivated, but strong team player
