Assistant or Associate Professor in Management Accounting and Control ESCP Business School, Torino Salary Range: EUR 50,000 - 70,000 Position Overview: The Performance Measurement & Management Department at ESCP Business School invites applications for a full-time, permanent position as an Assistant or Associate Professor in Management Accounting & Control, to be based at the Turin campus starting January or September 2026. Qualifications: Candidates should hold a PhD or equivalent in management, demonstrate excellent teaching, research, and publication skills, and be able to teach in English. Preference will be given to those with an international profile and experience in management accounting practices. Fluency in Italian and/or French is a plus. Department Focus: The department comprises 12 faculty members specializing in Performance Measurement & Management, employing organizational and sociological approaches to study performance measurement practices across various sectors and organizational forms. Topics include: Performance measurement types (financial, operational, sustainability, ethical, impact) Management control systems (KPIs, dashboards, incentives, social control) and supporting digital technologies (AI, ERPs) Societal impacts of quantification (self-tracking, ratings, social media impact) Our research is published in leading journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society; Contemporary Accounting Research; and others. Teaching Approach: We focus on case-based, research, and project-based teaching to foster reflexivity. Our goal is to critically examine management accounting tools, question their design and effects, and promote sustainable management practices.
