Collaborate effectively with other Garmin associates through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions. /liliPromote adherence to best practices, coding standards, and development methodologies. /liliDesign and develop robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions using Java and related technologies. /liliWork with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS to deploy and manage applications. /liliDeliver high-quality software solutions by promoting test-driven development (TDD) practices. Advocate for and implement automated testing strategies to improve reliability and efficiency. /liliOptimize system performance and ensure high availability. /li /ulpOther responsibilities: /pulliStay updated on emerging technologies and trends in cloud computing and Java development. /liliChampion a mindset of continuous learning and improvement through hands-on experimentation and prototyping. /liliPropose and implement strategies to enhance system efficiency and development processes. /liliWork closely with software project leaders to align technical solutions with business goals and deliverables. /liliPartner with DevOps and QA teams to streamline deployment pipelines and testing processes. /liliEngage with other technical leaders to share knowledge and drive cross-team innovation. /li /ulpWhat you’ll need: /pulliBachelor’s Degree in technical discipline or equivalent professional experience and a minimum of 8 years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience developing with Java and related frameworks such as Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Hibernate. /liliProficiency in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). /liliStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to troubleshoot issues and work independently on complex technical challenges. /liliStrong understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with platforms such as Azure or AWS. /liliExperience working with large datasets in relational and non-relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB. /liliThorough understanding of computing using complex data structures, complex algorithms, memory management, multi-threading, design patterns and standard libraries. /liliExperience working with any IDE (IntelliJ, Visual Studio, etc..), code management (GIT/ Gerrit), configuration management systems and CI/CD processes (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Ansible). /liliStrong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. /liliAbility to work well with others across several locations world-wide in a highly collaborative environment. /liliExperience with agile SDLC methodologies and tools like Azure DevOps/JIRA/Confluence. /liliExperience with both Linux and Windows environments. /li /ulpBonus points if you have: /pulliExperience with GIS systems or spatial databases. /liliExperience in leading and managing technical teams. /liliFamiliarity with marine environment technology, navigation and devices. /li /ulpWorkplace type: hybrid /ppCompany: /ppGarmin Italy Technologies produces electronic charts for the leisure boating market.
